The MLB Draft is one of the most exciting times of the year in terms of prospects, as each team gets at least 20 picks through the 20-round system. This also means that there are a ton of players who stay undrafted. Many of these prospects return to college; however, a lot of undrafted players test the waters in free agency to see where they stick, and these 5 have made a huge impact since being signed to their respective teams.

RHP Luke Hoskins – Detroit Tigers – High-A

Luke Hoskins is a 6’4″ Relief Pitcher in the Tigers organization and did wonderfully in his first year of pro ball. The 23-year-old sported a 2.42 ERA with a 5-4 Record in 34 relief appearances between Low-A & High-A during the 2026 season. Hoskins produced 52.0 innings pitched with 60 strikeouts during that time frame. He accompanied his 1.27 WHIP with a 10.38 K/9. The Tigers should continue to give him the chance to develop as he works his way up the ladder as he enters levels involved with Statcast data.

1B Ryland Zaborowski – Los Angeles Angels – High-A

Ryland Zaborowski is certainly a mouthful when it comes to names; however, don’t let that distract you from the power he has shown. In my opinion, he draws real comparisons to Matt Adams when he was in his prime. Ryland was given most of his playing time at first, with occasional starts as the Designated Hitter. Ryland Zaborowski is currently testing the waters in the fall league; however, that shouldn’t overshadow his regular season stats from this season. Ryland Zaborowski had 67 Hits, 39 Runs, 16 Home Runs, 14 Doubles, 68 RBIs, 129 Total Bases, 30 Extra Base Hits, 30 Walks, and 4 Sacrifice Flies this season ALONE. Zaborowski also sported a .279 AVG with an OPS of .906. Zaborowski could be a key piece in a rebuilding Angels core that has yet to really establish itself.

RHP Chris Veach – New York Yankees – AA

The Yankees have struck gold on bullpen pieces in the minors as of lately, with Chris Veach being the latest edition to that gold mine. Chris Veach has dominated ever since being signed by the Yankees in 2024, where he has a career record of 5-6 with an ERA of 2.30 in 68 relief appearances. Veach has also notched 10 saves with a 1.10 WHIP. In 86.0 innings pitched, he has struck out 114 hitters, which gives him an 11.93 K/9. As he approaches AAA, the Yankees have to consider him for a bullpen position at the major league level, considering he is already 24 years old and could be a cheap alternative for the Yankees to take advantage of.

RHP Daniel Brooks – Atlanta Braves – High-A

Daniel Brooks has the potential to be the best player on this list. After a rough FCL campaign in a hitter-friendly league, he moved on up to Low-A & High-A and has dominated both leagues as a spot starter and a standard reliever. In his first full pro season, he sported a 4-1 record with a 1.81 ERA in 25 appearances (4 of those being starts). In addition to starting, he’s gotten 4 saves under his belt to add to his resume. Daniel Brooks pitched 49.2 innings and struck out 73 hitters in that time frame. He also posted a 0.87 WHIP to accompany his 13.23 K/9. The 24-year-old should be on the radar for a boost to AA by the time spring training rolls around, considering how he flew through the lower levels with dominance.

OF James Taussig – Chicago White Sox – High-A

Rounding out the list is 23-year-old James Taussig, who has been able to shine in the lower levels of the White Sox farm system. James Taussig has bounced around a bit this year, going from Low-A all the way to AA before going back to High-A to end the season. Taussig has extraordinary power on his bat and fits the mold for a power outfielder. In his first FULL pro season, Taussig has racked up 98 Hits, 208 Total Bases, 25 HR, 69 RBIs, 45 Walks, 29 Doubles, 66 Runs, 57 extra-base hits, and 1 Sac Fly. He also posted a .266 AVG with an OPS of .924 to end the season. There are obvious concerns with the strikeouts; however, that is normal for power hitters. He should be able to continue to cut down his strikeouts as he develops and has already shown promise as a potential MLB player in the near future.
